Ventura is a musical encounter. Bruno Buzzo on bass, Janice Pezoa on piano and Marcos Rocha on drums propose a fusion of traditional and unconventional elements of instrumental music. With a unique performance, the trio's sound consists of interesting compositions, added to a lot of spontaneity on their improvisation. Active musicians in the region of Campinas, they have participated together in various projects. After several formations and musical styles, a partnership and a very personal sound style was being developed.
The group seeks a different sound, with a language which works odd beats and complex harmonies in a very subtle and pleasing way. This is the main artistic concern of Ventura. "It creates a unique texture to the sound produced, joining our natural musical memory to a new and challenging element" says Bruno.
In the compositions, there is a need to establish this group's musical texture. "Ideas always come from somewhere, and it is always a copy of something under development, but the art is born when the imitation ends and something new and substantial comes along" says Janice. Furthermore, it is possible to observe the scholarly     influences mixed to the informality of instrumental improvisation.
Ventura released its first album "VENTURA" independently in 2012, with the distribution by Tratore. The album features special participations by Beto Kobayashi on guitar, Gustavo Scaranelo on guitar, and Vinícius Corilow and Flávio Corilow on saxophones.
The trio has performed on the 13th Jazz Festival of Santo Antônio do Pinhal in 2011, on the "Sousas Winter Festival" in Campinas-SP, on the "FNAC 2012 Independent Music Exhibition" at Shopping Parque Dom Pedro, on the 2012 Winter Festival of Serra Negra,SP, on the Winter Festival of Rio Claro, on the "Music in the Casarão da Cultura" in 2012, on the 2012 Carlos Gomes International Festival, in addition to other numerous bars and corporate events: Royal Palm Plaza Hotel, Atibaia Bourbon Resort, Vitória Hotel and Almanaque Café.
In 2013, the contest "New Talent Jazz" received 169 entries from several states and other countries, such as Chile, Argentina, Bolivia, Uruguay and Peru. The quality was proportional to the amount and, therefore, the jury had a lot of work to select the final 10 bands. The two winning bands have attended the Savassi Festival, while the other eight received an honorable mention. The Trio VENTURA came in 7th place.

Trio Ventura is comprised of experienced musicians. Janice Pezoa, pianist, has two solo works: "Nuances", from 2010 and "Esphera", 2012, which blend her classical studies with her experience on Brazilian Instrumental Music, where she has played with several artists. In 2008, she organized the "Jam Session Festival", where she invited Derico, Tomati, Teco Cardoso, Toninho Ferragutti, Nailor “Proveta”, Arthur Maia and Ulisses Rocha. She has worked as a pianist with the Symphony Orchestra of Campinas in the "Havana Festival 2007" (Cuba). She has also participated in drummer Alexandre Cunha’s band, in the International Jazz Festival of 2008 in Shanghai (China), and on the recording of the albums: “Chat Papo2” and “Barulho Bravio”. In 2009, on the First International Festival of Brass Instruments "Carlos Gomes”, she played with Yasek Manzano (trumpet-Cuba) and Andy Hunter (trombone-USA).
Bruno Buzzo is a composer and arranger, graduated at Unicamp (University of Campinas). He produced, in 2008, the album Walterama, leading the compositions and arrangements of the group, which brings an unorthodox horn section of 3 harmonicas.
With Paulo Gazela, in 2009, he took part of the show “The History of the Blues”, directed by Pedro Molfi. As an instrumentalist, he has played with: Altemar Dutra Jr, Zeca Balero, Taís Reganelli, Flávio Guimarães, Big Chico, Mariano Massolo (ARG), Mark Hummel and Rick Estrin (EUA).
Marcos Rocha has also graduated at UNICAMP on percussion and drums. In 2011, took part of the musical "La Cage aux Folles (A Gaiola das Loucas)" - drummer / rehearsal musician (directed by Miguel Falabella). He is also a member of the “Orchestra Heartbreakers" (Guga Stroeter). In 2010, he has recorded with "GRUPU" and "Tambaleio", which are percussion groups from UNICAMP, and also with "Coletivo Orquestral", which is conducted by Mario Campos.
